Back when Easy® Puff first launched in 2022, it became a hit virtually overnight. Creators and crafters absolutely adored this unique HTV and its puffy appearance. How could you not? The fun, dimensional effect that activates after heat application is reminiscent of fluffy clouds or cotton candy.
Then in 2024, we took that 3D effect even further with Easy Puff Metallic— a stunning HTV that combines the dimension of Easy Puff with a sleek, metallic sheen. This material was turning heads so fast, we almost couldn’t keep up with demand!
But now that Siser® fans had a taste of the puff effect, they wanted even more. We heard the requests, and we worked tirelessly to create the next iteration of a puffy HTV. Finally, we are beyond thrilled to announce that it has arrived… Easy Puff Glitter!
What is Easy Puff Glitter?
If the name didn’t give it away, Easy Puff Glitter is a new version of puffy heat transfer vinyl that offers a glittery finish. Just like our other versions, Easy Puff Glitter will expand into a 3D appearance after heat application (in this case, 2 heat applications. More on that later).

But Easy Puff Glitter is also embedded with colorful, ultra-fine glitter flakes exactly like our DiamondDust™ line. The result is a phenomenal, shimmering finish that gives designs depth as well as sparkle!
If that wasn’t enough, Easy Puff Glitter also has a subtle iridescent effect. Designs will appear to change color in the light, depending on the angle they’re viewed from. To put bluntly: going unnoticed simply isn’t possible with Easy Puff Glitter.
Available Colors
Easy Puff Glitter features 8 dazzling colors that are available through our Authorized Distributor and Reseller network. They are as follows:
- Cinnamon Rose
- Pink Salt
- Blue Raspberry
- Orange Slice
- Rainbow Black
- Pastel Lilac
- Dream Gray
- Sour Apple

All of these colors, with the exception of Rainbow Black, are color-matched to our DiamondDust line as well!
(There’s also a secret 9th color available exclusively at Michaels. See if you can find it!)
Now that you know the gist of Easy Puff Glitter, let’s talk about how to use it by going through a project together!
How to Use Easy Puff Glitter
I’m going to show you how to cut a 2-color design using Easy Puff Glitter. Now Easy Puff Glitter isn’t layerable, but we can still apply multiple colors as long as they don’t touch each other. If you still want that layered look, you can do so by using a little technique called the “knockout effect” (sometimes also called the Fake Layering Method).
Now before we begin, let’s take a look at the supplies we’ll need for this project.
- Sheets or rolls of Easy Puff Glitter (I’m using Pastel Lilac and Rainbow Black)
- Vinyl cutter (I’m using Juliet®)
- Computer with design software (I’m using Leonardo® Design Studio)
- A heat press (home irons are NOT recommended for Easy Puff products)
- Parchment paper or a heat press cover sheet
- A cotton, polyester, or cotton/poly blend blank
- An EasyWeeder®
- A pair of scissors

All set? Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Cutting Easy Puff Glitter
Upload the SVG into your design software. In Leonardo, this can be done by going to File > Import.

Because the 2 colors of this design don’t touch, I can move onto the cutting process. But if your colors are layered, you’ll need to first do the knockout method mentioned earlier before proceeding. When your design is good to go, load the first color into your cutter with the carrier (shiny) side facing down.

Depending on the cutter and age of your blade, the cut settings will vary. Here’s what we recommend as a *starting point* for each cutter. Keep in mind that you may have to adjust these settings— we recommend performing test cuts to ensure you have the best cut.

When the cut settings have been dialed in, go ahead and cut the first layer. Once it’s finished you can remove it from the cutter, load the second color, and cut the next layer from the design.
Step 2: Weeding and Trimming Easy Puff Glitter
Now that both colors have been cut, you can weed away the excess material and cavities.
Take your EasyWeeder (or equivalent tool) and carefully pierce an area of the excess material to peel away the negative space. If your cut was clean, peeling away the material should happen smoothly. If you notice certain areas of your design lifting up, don’t panic! You can use your EasyWeeder to help separate it from the negative space. Just go slowly and you’ll be fine!

Now because you don’t want to over-press Easy Puff Glitter AFTER it’s puffed up, we’ll want to press both colors at the same time. To do this, we’ll use a pair of scissors to trim the carriers as close to the material as we can get.

This allows us to arrange both colors onto the substrate at the same time, ensuring that the carrier from one layer isn’t overlapping another.
Step 3: Preparing Heat Press
Because achieving proper temperature and pressure with Easy Puff Glitter is crucial to activating the puff effect, you should always use a heat press when applying this material. Home irons, and even the Easy Press, are too inconsistent and therefore not recommended for this product.
Set your heat press to 310°F (that’s 155°C for those on the metric system) and adjust the pressure to “medium”. You can tell that you have a medium amount of pressure if you have to use some of your arm strength to fully close the platen. If you find that you have to use two arms or engage your core to close the top platen, chances are you have too much pressure!
When your heat press has finished heating up, place your substrate onto the lower platen. Press the blank garment for a few seconds to remove any pesky wrinkles or moisture. This may seem trivial, but it’s actually one of the most important steps when applying HTV!

Step 4: Applying Easy Puff Glitter
Now for the fun (and most important) part: application!
After pre-pressing, place down both colors of Easy Puff Glitter onto the substrate. Because the carriers have been trimmed, both colors should fit together without issue. If you notice any overlapping, grab your scissors and trim them a bit more.

Cover the entire design with parchment paper or another type of cover sheet. Press the Easy Puff Glitter for just 2-3 seconds, then lift up the top platen and give your design a minute to cool a bit. When the HTV is warm to the touch rather than hot, carefully peel the carriers off of both colors.

Now at this point, you may notice that the Easy Puff Glitter has only expanded slightly or is still completely flat. Don’t worry, this is normal! It’s the second press that allows us to REALLY see this material in action.
Cover the design with your cover sheet again and this time press for about 10-15 seconds. Let’s look at the final result…

Now THAT is puffed up! As you can see, the second heat application had caused the material to fully expand, quite literally adding a new dimension to this design. Combined with that shimmering finish, this design is sure to capture the attention of anyone nearby!
Conclusion
Easy Puff Glitter is the ultimate way to achieve 2 of the most popular HTV effects in one product. The bright colors and ultra-fine glitter flakes quite literally “pop” right off the garment. And while it looks amazing in these images, it looks even better in person. You truly need to experience this material for yourself!
