If you’re reading this, chances are that Halloween is fast approaching. Throughout September and October, everyone seems to be scrambling to find the best costume or spooky outfit. In no time, all the good stuff is cleared out, and the off-brand, low-quality stuff is left behind. Now your choices are to either reuse an outfit from last year or hope that “generic Italian plumber” costume is the right size…
We’ve all been there in some shape or form… but what if I told you that you didn’t have to deal with the costume chaos? If you have access to a vinyl cutter and a heat press (or even just a home iron), then you can skip all that madness. With your crafty skills and the right heat transfer materials, you can create your spooky apparel that will truly be one-of-a-kind!
Read on, because I’m about to show you the 5 BEST Siser HTVs to use for those Halloween projects!
Option 1: EasyWeed® Glow in the Dark
We simply can’t talk about Halloween without mentioning the classic EasyWeed Glow in the Dark (sometimes referred to as just EasyWeed Glow)!
It might surprise you, but this material is EasyWeed… that glows in the dark! It features a slightly off-white color that gradually “charges up” when exposed to light. Then when the lights go out, the material gives off a bright, eerie green glow!

Not only is this great for making sure your designs are seen in the dark, but it also allows you to hide secret messages that are only visible when the lights go out. Simply layer EasyWeed Glow in the Dark on top of EasyWeed White for an instant “invisible ink” effect!

Option 2: Easy® Glow
So, you like making glow in the dark designs, but “eerie green” isn’t exactly your jam. Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of other glowing colors to choose from!
With Easy Glow, you can create illuminating effects in 5 different bold colors: Neon Green, Neon Yellow, Neon Orange, Neon Pink, and Neon Blue! Just like EasyWeed Glow in the Dark, Easy Glow will gradually “charge up” when exposed to light so that it can shine bright at night! (How about that triple rhyme?)
Although Easy Glow doesn’t feature *all* of the same perks as EasyWeed Glow in the Dark (like being layerable or having a 1-second tack), one benefit it DOES have is a fantastic reaction to blacklights…

Option 3: EasyPatterns® Plus Glow
Okay, I just gotta mention one more glow in the dark material here… EasyPatterns Plus Glow features pre-printed patterns that (you guessed it) glow when the lights go out!
Similarly to EasyWeed Glow, EasyPatterns Plus Glow give off an eerie green shine. But *unlike* EasyWeed Glow, this material has spooky patterns created from the negative space of black ink that’s printed on top. The areas that are still exposed will then illuminate in the shape of some intricate patterns that would be difficult or downright impossible to create with regular “solid color” HTV.
EasyPatterns Plus Glow comes in 3 designs: Lightning, Spider Webs, and Starry Night. In my opinion, this material works best when you want to add some creepy text to your garment!

Option 4: EasyReflective®
Shifting away from glowing materials, we have the shiny EasyReflective! Embedded with tiny glass beads, this material looks sleek on its own but shines brilliantly when hit with direct light.
Now you might be asking- what does this have to do with Halloween? Simple: trick-or-treating safety! When you or your little ones are out and about collecting candy in the dark, it is imperative that drivers can easily spot you. By adding some EasyReflective to your costumes, jackets, or even candy bags, you can rest assured that you’ll be seen even in the darkest of conditions.
Take a look below at how EasyReflective looks in regular lighting (right) and direct lighting (left).
EasyReflective is available in 4 shiny colors: Silver, Dark Gray, Rainbow Black, and Aqua. Each color features the same reflective properties and makes for great Halloween outfits and safety wear!
Option 5: Vernice
I have to admit; this is one I didn’t even consider until I saw creations from our awesome audience! Vernice offers a stunning, ultra-glossy finish that gives designs a bold, “loud” look.
Available in Glossy Black and Glossy Red, these colors just beg to be used for Halloween creations! While Glossy Black can add a bold sheen to designs on both light and dark garments, Glossy Red is perfect for adding a contrasting pop of color that invokes a sense of horror.
Just look at how our friend Tara from Spot of Tea Designs uses Vernice Glossy Black to make an adorable Halloween shirt that absolutely pops on a white garment! Vernice’s ultra-glossy finish complements both the sharp corners and curvy lines of the design, while ensuring that those fine details really stand out.
