StripFlock On a Baseball Hat Brim for a Father’s Day Gift!

Fathers, is there anything they can’t do? They seem to have boundless energy! Often going from an early day at work straight to coaching, home improvements, auto repairs, and everything else in between. I often watched and wondered how my dad managed to fit so much into each day with a whistle and a grin to top it all off. He seemed super human! You only need a few things for this quick craft so snag these items:

I cut the super dad logo from bright red StripFlock. The trick to weeding this thick, fuzzy HTV is good cut lines. The adhesive side of StripFlock HTV

After removing all the excess HTV, it’s ready to be ironed on to the baseball hat. Prepare the hat for ironing by removing any packaging and flattening the bill area. Next, position the HTV on the hat. The shiny, smooth side of the clear carrier goes face up, and the tacky side will go face down. The bill of a baseball hat is the easiest place to customize with a home iron. If you want to decorate hats traditionally, then I’d recommend a cap press.

When you have the super dad logo where you like it, cover the area with a heat transfer cover sheet and press for 20 seconds. We typically recommend the cotton setting for applying HTV since it usually ranges in temperatures that are suitable for most Siser products. However, StripFlock likes a bit higher heat, so if you find it’s not sticking. Try moving up to the next heat setting.

StripFlock is a cold peel. “Cold peel” means you must wait until the carrier has completely cooled before removing it. If you try to remove the carrier too early, the StripFlock will lift with it and not bond to the fabric.

When the carrier is gone, your DIY father’s day gift is finished! You can bend and reshape the bill or wrap it up and leave that part for dad. Either way he’s sure to be super excited to receive a custom hat crafted by you!
