SKILL LEVEL: Beginner
CRAFTING TIME: Under 30 Minutes
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Siser® Juliet® High-Definition Cutter
- EasyWeed® Bubble Gum
- EasyWeed® Bright Red
- EasyWeed® Yellow
- EasyWeed® Green
- EasyWeed® Royal Blue
- Blank Pencil Case
- Flower-shaped Hole Punch
- Siser® EasyWeeder®
- Parchment Paper or other Cover Sheet
- Siser® 9in x 12in Heat Press
- Heat Press Pillow or Towel
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Load each material into the hole punch one at a time and punch out as many flowers as desired.
Step 2: Set the temperature on the Siser Heat Press to 305°F / 150°C. Arrange the pencil pouch onto the heat press platen. Insert a heat press pillow or small folded towel into the pouch to help achieve even pressure, making sure the zipper portion is hanging off the edge of the platen. Pre-press the pencil pouch for a few seconds to remove any wrinkles or moisture.
Step 3: Arrange the EasyWeed flowers onto the pencil pouch as desired. Cover with parchment paper and press for 15 seconds, then peel the carriers hot.
Step 4: Flip the pencil pouch over and pre-press the other side for a few seconds to remove any wrinkles or moisture. Arrange the remaining EasyWeed flowers onto the pencil pouch as desired. Cover with parchment paper and press for 15 seconds, then peel the carriers hot. Your colorful new pencil pouch is complete!
Tips for this project:
- EasyWeed is a “hot peel” material, which means you can remove the carrier immediately after pressing— but be careful of the heat!
- If you do not have a heat press handy, EasyWeed can also be applied using a home iron! Set the iron to the “Cotton” or “Linen” setting and make sure the “Steam” setting is turned off.
- Having difficulties removing the carriers after application? Use an EasyWeeder to carefully peel them away!
